Last chance to respond to the election issues survey! Please respond to this short, anonymous survey about what's important to you. We have 54 responses which is good but not robust. Help us provide some compelling charts in the October print issue of The Carrborean by ticking a few boxes for 3 minutes or less! The survey will close September 22. Thank you for contributing to our civic discourse in Carrboro!

Stories this week--The Bazaar is back and an interview with Carrboro Mayor Barbara Foushee who is running for re-election.

Update on availability of the COVID-19 vaccine in Carrboro: Last week, North Carolina changed its rules to allow some people to get the vaccine without a prescription but falling short of promoting universal access (despite misleading headlines). CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices concludes its meeting today so we expect more information next week, and The Carrborean will update its report on vaccine availability at Carrboro pharmacies.

Civic Engagement note: Town Council is back in session! You can find Council's calendar, agendas, and meeting notes and recordings on the website.

Next week: We're posting performance previews and interviews with Carrboro bands in the run up to the Carrboro Music Festival, September 27 and 28. For planning your time there, check out the Carrboro Music Festival app. The Carrborean's Events Calendar will not feature the full schedule of performances since you can get that from the app in a convenient and customized format. A note for your planning from the Town: The Town of Carrboro has partnered with Chapel Hill Transit to provide a free shuttle for festival-goers.  The shuttle will run on Sunday from 12 to 9 p.m. from the Jones Ferry Road Park & Ride Lot, located just south of the intersection of Old Fayetteville Road and Jones Ferry Road across from the entrance to Poplar Place Apartment Homes and beside University Lake Road. Shuttle service will run approximately every 15-20 minutes and drop-off locations exist near most of the music venues.
