Fountain at the corner of North Greensboro and Weaver Streets

On Sunday, August 24, El Centro Hispano will host its annual Fiestas en la Calle from 12 - 6pm on Weaver Street between North Greensboro Street and Elm Street (closed to traffic). In addition to enjoying performances and food at the fiesta, take advantage of the last community engagement for the final draft of the Downtown Area Plan to give your feedback before its public hearing for adoption at Town Council.

What has been reported about the plan? Axios says that downtown could look taller and denser. And in The Local Reporter, "the plan says future development should expand the downtown..." with considerations for adjacent residential neighborhoods. Chapelboro described the plan as focusing on "providing mixed-use sites, infrastructure for multimodal travel, and public greenspaces."

Town leadership wants to hear from you. Review the final draft of the plan and tell them what you think.
