Tuesday, July 15: One more thank you for lunch donations--yesterday, Breakaway Cafe and Anna Maria's Pizzeria contributed lunch for families, volunteers, and workers. Neighbors in Weatherhill Pointe have expressed how having these lunches each day boosted morale throughout the neighborhood. At times like these, we have to take care of each other. We're here, together.

Monday, July 14: Good morning! Weatherhill Pointe is moving gradually from emergency relief into recovery phase. With Team Rubicon and AFTERDISASTER on the scene providing staff and supplies, there is no specific call for volunteers or supplies today or going forward. The pavilion will be staffed from 8-5 and neighbors can pick up supplies there. HOORAY!
Weatherhill Pointe neighborhood would like to thank everyone who volunteered and donated from the bottom of their hearts. They experienced the best of humanity last week in the generous outpouring from neighbors amidst what was one of the most difficult weeks of their lives.

THANK YOU to our lunch sponsors yesterday: Burger King (Chris, Asst. Manager) and Armadillo Grill fed 60+ family members, volunteers, and workers.

Sunday, July 13: The Weatherhill Pointe neighborhood got a boost today. Team Rubicon, a professional disaster relief group that organizes volunteers around the country, has arrived. They will provide much needed support over the next two weeks to get Weatherhill Pointe back on its feet.
There will be just two updates here today, now and this evening. They still need volunteers to staff the pavilion today from 8AM to 6PM, in all weather except thunderstorms. Contact info@thecarrborean.com if you can staff the pavilion for any amount of time or just walk over to the pavilion. And they still need volunteers to clean out houses--they have supplies such as protective gear for you but if you have your own, all the better.
They need ice throughout the day. They also need plastic bins, wheelbarrows, and hand trucks/dollies. Please do not drive into the neighborhood if you can avoid it. You can park on Westbrook and then walk to the pavilion to deliver ice.
Please take other donations, such as Poweraid/Gatorade, electrolyte packs, packaged snacks, contractor bags, heavy duty trash bags (not kitchen bags), safety goggles, insulation knives, headlamps, bug spray, vinegar, work gloves, heavy-duty shoe covers, plastic (nitrile) gloves, liquid IV/electrolyte powders, heavy-duty masks with respirators to the Carrboro Flood Aid Distribution Center at 108 Bim Street.
THANK YOU to the local restaurants that provided lunch for families and volunteers yesterday: GlassHalfull, Grata Diner, and Autostrada Pizza and Panini!

THANK YOU for the tremendous outpouring of support from Triangle Mutual Aid who came immediately on Monday and has been bringing supplies and volunteers every day since.

THANK YOU to the neighbors around Weatherhill Pointe, including the Tennis Club Estates and Rosewalk neighborhoods for your generosity and support.
