Early voting begins on Thursday, Feb. 12, and runs through Saturday, Feb. 28. Orange County residents can vote at any early voting site. Polls will be open: Weekdays from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Closed Feb. 15) Sundays from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. (Closed Feb. 21) Learn more about early voting: www.orangecountync.gov/Elections

OWASA's Dare to Share Program enables residents to help neighbors pay their water bills. You can donate on the website.

Food drives: Host your own food drive to benefit local food pantries.

Those in need can find food at sites in Orange County. The Town of Carrboro reported that the Orange County Board of Commissioners approved a transfer of funds from its Social Justice Reserve to support organizations providing food, including IFC, TABLE, and PORCH in Carrboro. Each organization also accepts donations on their websites. For more information from the Town of Carrboro, check out the Town's weekly newsletter.

The first clinic is Saturday, February 21 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Orange County Animal Services (1601 Eubanks Road, Chapel Hill). Free DA2PPV/FVRCP vaccines will be available, along with $10 rabies vaccines and $35 microchips. More low-cost clinics are scheduled throughout 2026. Visit www.orangecountync.gov/308/Low-Cost-Clinics
